On the evening of february 23, 1999, star boomer was patron of uncle mikeâs bar at 49th and metropolitan in kansas city, kansas. Boomer had gone to the tavern with her roommate. The friend had a drink and headed home, planning to return in a few hours to pick up her roommate. When she arrived at the bar, she was told that boomer had left with two men. Witnesses say boomer was involved in a violent altercation with a man believed to be lifelong criminal with a history of violent behavior, particularly toward women.
