Everett marlett was shot multiple times at a residence on s. Cedar st. During what appeared to be a robbery. Everett marlett was killed in what was known as the “marlett manor”, a two-story building which served as everett’s residence and the site of his business, statewide realty (swr). The building also served as the location for an income tax service owned by “lulu” marlett, everett’s wife. The couple resided and operated their respective businesses in separate offices on the first level; they rented several rooms on the second floor plus five cabins at the rear of the building. Everett was known as a fancy dresser and a businessman who primarily sold bars and taverns through his realty business. Everett was married and had at least one child at the time of his death.
