On october 23, 1997 at around 1:00 am, officers were called to arbutus st. After a neighbor reported hearing gunshots outside. When officers arrived they found edgar avila lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital and died shortly thereafter. The motive behind avilas murder remains unclear. Avila was an immigrant from the dominican republic.Agency
