On july 17, 2009, at approximately 5:45 am, thomas “tommy” horton was shot and killed in his front yard while walking toward his semi-truck to leave for work. Horton, who lived near the town of day in lafayette county, fl, was a long-time employee of byrd’s logging, located near branford, fl. Horton’s wallet was missing, which allegedly contained several thousands of dollars.
