June 18, 2007 aurora police officers heard what they believed to be gunshots in the vicinity of east 12th avenue and akron street. Responding to the location officers located mr. Granados-aguilar on the street just east of the intersection. Mr. Granados-aguilar had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. At the scene was mr. Granados-aguilar's girlfriend, elena pineda and her two year old son. Ms. Pineda told officers a male approached them as they were seated in her car and ordered mr. Granados-aguilar out of the car at gun point. He complied and was told to hand over his money and necklace. During this exchange the male grabbed mr. Granados-aguilar by his shirt, when mr. Granados-aguilar attempted to knock the suspects hand away, the suspect shot him multiple times. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the aurora police department.
