On october 28, 1980, arapahoe county sheriffs officers were dispatched to county road 173 near us 36. There they discovered the body of 15 year old stephanie bauman; her body was bruised and left lying in a ditch. Stephanie died of hypothermia. Stephanie reportedly lived in a group home but had run away. She is reported to have left the group home approximately two weeks prior to her death and was reported to have stayed with different acquaintances prior to her death.
