Just before midnight, west precinct officers were dispatched on report of two people shot at fire station 20 (4825 avenue w).Officers arrived on the scene and then observed two adult males suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel transported the two adult males to a local area hospital. One of the males suffered life-threatening injuries the other male suffered non-life-threatening injuries.While officers were at fire station 20, they learned the victim (toshobe adox-jones) arrived at princeton hospital by private vehicle; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Princeton hospital staff pronounced the victim deceased.The preliminary investigation has revealed the following, shotspotter alerted officers to gunfire detected in the 1600 block of fulton avenue southwest.Currently, we believe shots were exchanged between two groups in the 1600 block of fulton avenue southwest; the three victims were struck by gunfire.Detectives believe the three men struck by gunfire were not bystanders.We are working to determine the three victims’ involvement in the exchange of gunfire.Bpd detectives interviewed at least two persons of interests (two adult males) at bpd headquarters. After the interview, both males were transported to the birmingham city jail where they are being held under a 48-hour felony extension for murder.Agency
