On september 29, 1960, relatives had been unable to make contact with 43 year old james joseph gaughan and asked police to check his home. Responding officers found mr. Gaughan inside the home, deceased from a gunshot wound. He had lived alone, and was believed to have died the previous day, september 28, 1960. Investigation revealed mr. Gaughan had last been seen in public at the colorado springs dog track on the night of tuesday, september 27, after which he returned home alone. Evidence suggested he may have been struck in the head before being shot. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the colorado springs police department.Agency
