On april 16, 2002, officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the 800 block of north dayton street. Chauncey thurman was conscious and coherent and was transported to columbia south hospital. Chauncey succumbed to his injuries the next day. The person(s) responsible for the death of chauncey thurman have not yet been identified.
