On march 19, 1974, at approximately 11:55 p.M., john and frances dubeck were murdered as they walked from their vehicle toward their apartment. The couple was attacked using a 20-gauge shotgun. John dubeck had a criminal history involving slot cheating and was reportedly involved in rigging craps games. This involvement may have made him a target for retaliation. An investigation revealed that kenneth trudeau and his father, robert trudeau sr., had possession of the murder weapon before the incident.
