On the morning of october 25th, 2004 nicolas ferrel-ibarra was collecting receipts and cash from the check cashing business he worked at. Then as mr. Ferrel-ibarra approached his vehicle, he was confronted by two armed assailants. In an effort to avoid being robbed, mr. Ferrel-ibarra entered his vehicle and attempted to drive off. It was at this point that mr. Ferrel-ibarra was shot and killed by the gunmen. Denver police homicide detectives issued an arrest warrant for felipe jesus buelna (03/09/76) during the initial investigation. To date, suspect buelna remains at large.Friends and family members of nicolas ferrel-ibarra remember him as a fearless man. He worked as a journalist in juarez, mexico and here in denver. At the time of his murder, mr. Ferrel-ibarra was married with two young daughters.
