On august 12, 1980, members of the denver police and fire departments responded to the jefferson hotel located on the 1500 block of champa street on a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, the building was engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, 53 year old thaddeus hosey and two other residents were found dead inside. Despite the joint investigation by denver arson and homicide detectives, no suspect(s) were identified.
