Cold case spotlight on january 19, 2014 derryck harris and his childhood friend, lamar broussard, were ambushed while driving broussard's car at the intersection of 100th avenue and longfellow avenue in oakland, california. Only a few weeks prior, broussard's 13-year old brother had been shot and killed just a few blocks away. Detectives had not ruled out a connection between the two shootings early in the investigation but they have not commented publicly on the case since.
