On january 21, 2020, at approximately 1740 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting. As officers were already on scene, a citizen driving their vehicle pulled up to the officer and advised there was a hurt man in their back seat. The officer observed thomas sitting in the back seat of the citizen's vehicle clutching his abdominal area. The citizen witness advised the officer that while in their house, they heard a gunshot and then heard a man screaming for help. They drove their car to the victim, put him in the backseat and found the officer. Thomas was transported to the hospital by medics and later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound.Agency
