On monday, june 28, 2004 at 7:56 am, police, fire, and paramedics responded to the 1100 block of newcombe road for a reported gunshot wound. A man was found lying in the front yard of a residence with a gunshot wound. He advised there were two more family members inside the home who had also been shot. As the police officers entered the home finding the other wounded victims, a fire was discovered. The two victims’ were removed from the burning home and were examined by paramedics only to find they had died from their injuries. The fire department extinguished the fire. The injured man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated. The deceased were identified as 29 year old lois schmidt and 7 year old jonathan vetrano. Both lived in the 1100 block of newcombe road. Three family pets were also inside the home at the time this attack occurred, two dogs had been shot, one died and the other survived. Lois schmidt was a 29 year old white female who had brown eyes, brown shoulder length hair, 5’ 4’’ tall weighing 142 pounds.Agency
