On 4/17/1988, human remains were found in a wooded area of us 441 and interstate 10. The remains were later identified as that of laverne mack. Laverne had been reported missing on 08/11/1987 by lake city police department. There was not enough evidence to determine the cause of death and after several interviews, no suspects were able to be identified.
