On the afternoon of august 15, 1980, denver police officers responded to the north platte river near east 48th avenue on a report of a dead body. Upon arrival, officers observed the body lying on a sandbar in the north platte river. After the autopsy was complete it was determined 32 year old travis mcgilvray died as a result of blunt force trauma to his head. Travis was a local business owner and operator of m & g electronics.
