At approximately 5:10 p.M., officers from the west precinct responded to 2808 bessemer road on a call of a person shot. Upon arrival officers discovered the victim on the ground unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue along with jefferson county coroner responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. The preliminary investigation suggest the victim was at the nu vision detail center patronizing the business when he stepped outside to take a phone call. An unknown person emerged from a vehicle and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a small sedan prior to officer’s arrival. There are no suspect(s) in custody.
