Officers from the west precinct responded to 1401 4th avenue west to investigate a report of a deceased female. Officers arrived and observed a female subject inside the residence unresponsive in the living room area. Birmingham fire and rescue arrived with the jefferson county coroner and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.Initially the death was listed as an unclassified death investigation. Further investigation by the coroner and bpd investigators prompted the death classification to change to a homicide investigation. Upon review of findings from the jefferson county coroner’s office, the death of dorise henderson has been changed from a homicide investigation and ruled as a natural death.
