Vela lindner, who had been living at a rehabilitation center for two months, returned to her home, 6121 glendale circle, on june 29, 1998. Family and friends spoke with vela several times during the day on june 30, the last call at approximately 4:30 p.M. A neighbor knocked on the door at 8:00 p.M. And became concerned when vela did not answer. The neighbor called vela's family who came to the residence with a key. The family member and the neighbor entered the residence and discovered vela on the bedroom floor. It was determined that the suspect broke into the house through a bedroom window and encountered vela, there were signs of a struggle in the master bedroom where vela was found deceased. The official cause of death was manual strangulation.Agency
