Date of homicide: 4-11-11 case number: 11-16541 on april 11, 2011, at approximately 0958 hours, (9:58 am) the manatee county sheriff’s office received a phone call from the desoto village apartments, stating that there was a dead, black female inside her apartment and a baby found crying inside a locked bedroom. The maintenance crew forced open the bedroom door with a screwdriver. They had received a phone call from an unknown person stating that they needed to check the welfare of myslene gabriel, because she possibly had committed suicide. Mso responded and found myslene gabriel, b/f, dead, lying face up in the living room. Gabriel appeared to have signs of trauma on her face at that time, and was 3 months pregnant at the time of her death. The apartment was locked and according to the family her cell phone, a blackberry torch was missing along with a large flat screen tv. The victim had an incident with her ex-boyfriend, bryan stanford, on 4-5-11 and he was subsequently arrested on 4-11-11 for aggravated domestic battery, but denied any involvement in her death.
