Shortly before 6:00 p.M., the birmingham 911 communication division received a shotspotter alert on multiple rounds being fired in the 2900 block of avenue z. West precinct officers were dispatched to the area; they arrived on the scene where they observed a male victim lying unresponsive in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene, and then transported the victim to uab hospital where he was pronounced deceased.Agency
