At approximately 2:05 a.M., the birmingham police department’s 911 communication division received a shot spotter call of one round fired in the 300 block of 72nd street north. Officers from east precinct responded to the scene and discovered the victim Unresponsive lying on the curb near the roadway. The victim suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham fire and rescue reported to the scene where the victim was pronounced deceased. Detectives have limited information in this homicide investigation. There are no suspect(s) in custody.
