On march 16 1989, passengers on a bus headed toward laughlin observed a body off of the road. Police responded & located the body of shirley ann stanton who was determined to be a homicide victim. Her body had been undiscovered for several days. Stanton was relocating between bedford, tx and porterville, ca. She’d been having some car trouble & reporting her trip status to her mother. Authorities located her vehicle, with her dog inside, near the vicksburg overpass on I-10 in new hope, az, in la paz county approximately 100 miles east of phoenix. This remote location has a truck stop. A white, semi-tractor trailer rig was seen stopped in the vicinity of stanton’s vehicle.Agency
