On july 6, 1987 lynda avery's body was found in the basement of the house in which she was living. The cause of death was multiple stab wounds and her throat had also been cut several times. The investigation revealed lynda frequented bars in the denver and glendale areas. She lived with her sister and brother-in-law who had recently moved from aurora to washington state and were planning to sell the home. Lynda was living alone at the time of the homicide and was dating an individual by the name of "Steve". No witnesses were found who could put lynda with any particular individual that night.
