On thursday, august 31, 2017, at approximately 1:50pm, columbus police patrol officers responded to the scene of a double shooting at the corner of traymore place and republic avenue. The officers found two individuals, later identified as theodore stokes and daryll gavin, lying on a front porch suffering from gunshot wounds. Mr. Stokes was pronounced dead at the scene and mr. Gavin was transported to grant hospital where he died several days later.
