On the afternoon of july 19th, 1981 a friend went to henry charles atwood's capital hill apartment located at 434 e. 14th avenue in denver, colorado, to return an item he had borrowed the previous day. When 64 year old mr. Atwood did not answer the door, the friend entered the apartment. It was at this time that mr. Atwood was found stabbed to death inside his residence.
