On may 13, 1996, joseph littlejohn and an associate were in the basement of a residence on the 3800 block of ne 17th avenue when at approximately 10:20 pm, shots were fired through a window. Mr. Littlejohn, a 20-year-old african-american man, was shot and died at the scene while his associate was not harmed. Joseph littlejohn was reported to be a known crips gang member. Witnesses reported seeing 2 unidentified african-american men in their late teens to mid twenties running away from the scene shortly after the shots were heard.
