On the evening of july 19, 1978, 63 year old joe gerry was sitting at the bar inside of a downtown denver drinking establishment called the mir-o-bar. Several patrons heard a loud noise and shortly thereafter discovered joe gerry had been shot. Mr. Gerry was transported to a local hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.
