On saturday, july 2, 2016, at approximately 2:05 am, several witnesses heard a gunshot coming from the 3300 block of jewel street. As the neighbors came out of their home's they noticed a red hyundai had crashed into another parked vehicle. They then noticed the driver of the red hyundai appeared to have been wounded by a gunshot. The driver was later identified as marcus jacques proctor who was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. Witnesses observed a tall, slim black male with baggy clothing walking on gregg street, away from the scene, just after the shooting. Marcus was from crowley, louisiana and was known in houston as "La". His family described him as a loving and caring son, father, and brother. Marcus joined the united states marine corp in 1993. Marcus moved to the houston area in 2002, where he had two sons that he loved dearly. In addition, he was a graduate from the commonwealth school of funeral services.
