Rico, age 74, was at his home located at 3250 w. 3500 s. In the early morning hours of december 31, 1977. He was making repairs and was working under his kitchen sink when he was shot from outside the house through the kitchen window. Rico stood and went to the front porch after reportedly hearing loud pops, not yet realizing he’d been shot. He then proceeded to go back into his house once he realized he’d been injured to call police. Rico survived the initial life threatening injuries but succumbed to secondary complications a couple of months later. Robbery did not appear to be a motive in the shooting.Agency
