On the morning of april 6, 1992, a train engineer was moving a train just north of the intersection of n. Kerby avenue and n. Watts street, when he observed a body in between the train tracks. The engineer then called police to the scene. It was determined that the victim, linda june woods, a 33-year-old white woman, had been strangled. Ms. Woods was married with two young children. Those close to her describe her as trusting and somewhat naïve. She was known to associate herself with homeless people who frequented the area where her body was found.
