On may 11, 2016, at 9:17 p.M., the lvmpd dispatch center received a 911 call from a male later identified as jose de jesus alatorre-guzman, 19 years of age who reported he had been shot. Patrol officers and medical personnel responded to the intersection of minnesota street and washington avenue. Alatorre-guzman was transported to the umc trauma center for treatment. Through the investigation, detectives learned the alatorre-guzman was walking in the 5100 block of vermont avenue. An unknown male who was driving a black 4-door vehicle, possibly a honda, engaged alatorre-guzman in conversation then shot him one time and drove away. On may 14, 2016, alatorre-guzman died from the injuries he received as a result of the shooting. As of this release, a suspect has not been identified and the motive is unknown.Agency
