At around 8:10 am, north precinct officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of fairmont avenue on report of a person down inside a residence. Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim suffering from visible signs of trauma. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The preliminary investigation suggests a concerned community member discovered the victim and dialed 911. It is unknown whether the victim was shot or stabbed.
