On the afternoon of july 9, 1981, members of the denver police department responded to the home of 55 year old clarence harris on a welfare check. Upon entry into his north park hill home both clarence harris and his roommate, valerie murphy, were found deceased. It was later determined both victims died of gunshot wounds. Prior to his murder, clarence harris operated a janitorial business in the denver metro area.
