Jose rivas was found strangled and beaten toward the rear of his home, while an autopsy confirmed multiple traumatic injuries. According to police the house had been ransacked and there was evidence of forced entry. Nothing in the house was found missing however rumors spread that rivas' home had been targeted for hidden cash. Neighbors reported the area was quiet the night of the attack.
