On the evening of february 8, 1981, members of the denver fire department responded to the xv logan apartments, located on north logan street, on a report of a structure fire. After the fire was extinguished, emergency crews located newborn leroy perez, along with two other victims, deceased inside of the apartment. Leroy was only 9 days old at the time of his death.
