At approximately 1:40 a.M., west precinct officers were dispatched to a person shot call at a residence in the 600 block of 13th street ensley.Officers arrived on the scene when they entered the residence and then observed the victim lying unresponsive suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was involved in a verbal argument with an adult male; the adult male shot the victim and then fled the scene.Hours after the incident, bpd officers detained the adult male in the 700 block of 19th street south. Officers transported the adult male to bpd headquarters where homicide detectives will interview him.
