Cold case spotlight on january 6, 1992 las vegas police found werner oestreich shot in the back of the head near the intersection of 15th street and st. Louis avenue. Investigators believe the suspect was hiding in the back seat of mr. Oestreich's 1987 4-door toyota camry prior to the attack. Mr. Oestreich's car was found burned and dumped at the charleston boulevard underpass a short time later and his wallet was discovered in a garbage can outside a local grocery store. Mr. Oestreich, originally from germany, had no family in the united states but those close to him are still searching for answers.
