On july 9, 1979, at about 3:00 p.M., officers responded to 2041 nw everett street, apt. # 905, to the request of a welfare check. Upon arriving, the officers entered the apartment and found the victim, jasper belle, a 64-year-old african-american male deceased due to a gunshot wound.
