At approximately 5:20 am on february 14, 1986, a resident on the 4200 block of ne 37th avenue noticed someone lying face down in the snow near the northeast corner of wilshire park. Police were called and discovered eddie lathan, a 22-year-old african-american male, deceased at the curb line. An autopsy determined that mr. Lathan had been shot to death. Investigators determined that he had not been murdered at this location, but rather his body was dumped. Mr. Lathan was reported to be a street-level drug dealer who dealt mostly marijuana. Mr. Lathan was last seen on the night of february 13, near the intersection of ne grand and alberta street at approximately midnight.
