On monday, april 23, 2007, at approximately 4:15 pm, 6-year-old crysta marie spencer was crossing 6th street, ne, in the middle of the block near orleans place, ne, when she was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop and fled the scene. Crysta was taken to the children’s national medical center and pronounced dead at 5 pm. The striking vehicle is described as a large green sports utility vehicle with tinted windows, bearing unknown tags with a white background.
