William hart was a police officer for the city of hallandale beach. On december 21, 1982, at approximately midnight, officer hart, who was off-duty at the time, was located in front of his residence at 209 se 9 court hallandale beach, florida with a gun-shot wound to the head. The investigation revealed a neighbor/witness heard some yelling coming from an unknown area outside of his apartment and then soon after heard a loud noise similar to a firecracker exploding. The neighbor exited his residence and discovered officer hart lying on the ground with his head in a pool of blood.
