On october 1, 2016, at approximately 0200 hours dpd officers responded to the 500 block of east colfax ave on shots fired. Upon arrival officers located the victim, rene wells suffering found apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to denver health medical center and later died of his injuries.
