On the evening of april 17, 1987, a resident on the 3600 block of ne 125th avenue noticed the victim lying in the street and called 911. The victim, 58-year-old dionisio rios, a hispanic man, had been shot and killed. The victim was last seen with two unidentified hispanic men at a north portland 7-11, driving a 1980 maroon oldsmobile with california license plates. The vehicle was discovered with blood in the vehicle at 718 ne 64th avenue soon after mr. Rios was found. Dionisio rios was a mexican national who had recently arrived in the united states days earlier. An investigation revealed that he had been involved in the mexican drug trafficking trade.
