On july 31, 2015 at approximately 2:08 a.M., officers were summoned to 10395 e. Iliff avenue, (mcdonough's irish pub) on a report of a shooting. Potts was located at the scene suffering a gunshot wound to his chest as well as other gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. It should be noted the victim was armed with a .40 caliber semi automatic pistol when he was shot.
