On january 13, 1996 officers responded to the 4900 block of west colfax avenue to the parking lot of the purple turtle on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital. 30 year old andrew gallegos died from his injuries. A second victim was wounded but survived. The investigation found the victims had been involved in an altercation with a third individual when this suspect pulled out a gun and shot them. The suspect then fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding this case, is asked to please contact the denver police department.
