Near the 1700 block of east 30th avenue on the evening of august 2, 1977, 24 year old john pierce was involved in a reported drug transaction with an unknown suspect. During that time, john pierce jr. Was shot. He was immediately transported to a local hospital and died the following day as a result of his injuries.
