On thursday, june 24th, 2021, at 8:44pm, columbus police officers were called to the far east recreation center at 1826 lattimer dr. On a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found 17-year-old makenzi ridley suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Cfd medic 23 transported ridley to mount carmel east hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced deceased at 9:17pm. Witnesses stated, a large group of young people had gathered near the recreation center when shots were fired and ridley was fatally injured.Agency
