The victim, age 21, and his friend were on foot at 39th and broadway near the westport entertainment district when they were caught in the crossfire of rival gang members shooting at each other from various vehicles at about 3:20 a.M. May 20, 2007. The victim sustained a gunshot wound during the shooting and subsequently died from his injury. The victim was an innocent bystander who lost his life to gang violence.
